More of it! - BeWise conference inspires female scientists

BeWise conference 2024

Women in Science and Engineering (BeWise) - this was the motto of the fourth meeting of female scientists in the qualification phase from various disciplines at the Pullman Hotel Dresden from April 15-17.

The three-day, English-language conference, which was conceived and organized by the Diversity Management department in collaboration with the coordinators of several DFG-coordinated programmes, offers a platform for intensive exchange, networking and career development every two years. In addition to various workshops and coaching on individual development and career planning, the female researchers also get to talk to role models - female professors and researchers in leadership positions - during a fireside evening.

The conference was primarily aimed at female researchers from participating DFG-coordinated programs and cooperation institutions (Barkhausen Institute) as well as female researchers from the Women@DDC network. A total of 80 places were available.

At the end of the second day, the female researchers were extremely enthusiastic, inspired and happy to have taken part in the BeWise conference despite their busy projects and many commitments. They are now "refreshed" and ready to implement their scientific projects, taking away valuable contacts and new ideas as well as plenty of inspiration. In addition to great gratitude for this profitable exchange and reflection in a very focused time frame, the participants emphasized the desire for more networks and formats of this kind.
