96th Annual Meeting of the Society for Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM)

From March 16 to 20, 2026, the 96th Annual Meeting of the Society for Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM) took place in Stuttgart with international participation.

Three papers from SFB/TRR 280 were presented at the conference:

Dipl.-Ing. Verena Curoșu (TP C05) presented her research from the first funding phase of the SFB, titled "An improved extended phase-field method for the efficient simulation of fracture."

In addition, Ms. Leonie Koch, Dipl.-Ing., presented her work from the second funding phase of the SFB on the topic "Simulation of crack surface friction within the phase-field method."

And Ms. Meike Weiß, M.Sc., presented her work on the topic “Tubular interlockings with internal and external sinusoidal shaping: geometric influence on performance,” which was conducted in collaboration with Mr. Domen Macek, M.Sc., from subproject A01 of SFB/TRR 280.

We were particularly impressed by the diverse range of scientific presentations in the fields of applied mathematics and mechanics, as well as the numerous opportunities for professional exchange and networking. Of particular note was the “Women in GAMM” meeting, which provided a valuable setting for networking and exchanging ideas with other female researchers.
