The Research Colloquium of the German Committee for Reinforced Concrete (Deutscher Ausschuss für Stahlbeton, DAfStb) has a long tradition. It was held for the first time in 1974 at the TU Munich. The idea was to give young scientists, in particular, at the research institutes at universities the opportunity to present their current research work to a wider audience, and also to promote the exchange between research and practice. Since 2013, the annual conference of the DAfStb has also been held together with the Research Colloquium.
