The NextGen Materials Conference 2025 took place in Hamburg from September 23 to 25, 2025. The event brought together researchers from science and industry to discuss the latest developments in the field of sustainable and innovative materials.

The SFB/TRR 280 was represented by a presentation given by Dr. Paul Penzel and Tom Morgenstern (Institute for Textile Machinery and High Performance Materials, TU Dresden; Loki Schmidt Garden, University of Hamburg). Under the title “Bio-Inspired Fiber Reinforcement for carbon-reinforced concrete,” they presented a nature-inspired concept for textile reinforcement structures in carbon-reinforced concrete, which enables lighter, corrosion-free, and resource-saving components using innovative manufacturing techniques from the CRC.

The CRC/TRR 280 is thus making an important contribution to the development of sustainable and forward-looking construction methods in the field of carbon-reinforced concrete.
