Christina Scheffler has been heading the Research Group Fiber-Engineering since 2014 and was appointed as a Young Investigator at the Institute of Construction Materials in 2016. For several years, she has been actively involved in various programs at the TUD focusing on the development of innovative construction materials. These programs include the Collaborative Research Center Transregio 280 Design Strategies for Material-Minimised Carbon Reinforced Concrete Structures and the Research Training Group 2250 Mineral-Bonded Composites for Enhanced Structural Impact Safety. Her research focuses on bio-inspired interface structures between textile reinforcements and new mineral binders, as well as on the circular economy of fibers and polymers in construction.

The new joint professorship strategically expands the IPF's close connection with the TUD and reaffirms the institute's commitment to sustainable material technologies.

The IPF Board and the entire CRC/Transregio 280 team congratulate her on her appointment and look forward to continuing to work with Professor Christina Scheffler.
