From June 4 to 6, 2025, the 8th CFRAC (Conference on Computational Modeling of Fracture and Failure of Materials and Structures) took place in Porto (Portugal) with international participation.
During the event, contributions from subproject C05 of SFB TRR 280 from the first and second funding phases were presented.
Professor Löhnert presented the research work of Dipl.-Ing. Verena Curoșu entitled “An extended phase-field method for the efficient simulation of fracture processes” as well as a comparative calculation to prove that the transformed phase-field approach of XPFM can very well represent the course of the phase field in the element.
Leonie Koch presented her work from the second funding phase of the SFB on the topic “Simulation of crack surface friction within the phase-field method” with current developments.
